GeoTwinn’s Third Workshop,

15th October 2020

The Third GeoTwinn Workshop was held on the 15th October 2020. This time remotely, with the use of MS Teams platform. The workshop was attended by altogether 27 members of GeoTwinn project, from all three institutions (HGI-CGS, GEUS and BGS-UKRI).

The morning was set for joint sessions for which each Work Package was given approximately 20 minutes to present the major outputs and achieved objectives in the second project year. The program continued with the discussion on the COVID-19 effect on the project implementation, possible modifications of the work plan and suggestions on possible alternatives for the trainings that were initially planned to be held in person.

For the afternoon, separate break-out sessions were planned. HGI-CGS’s IT expert Ivan Sokač prepared the MS Teams environment and coordinated the afternoon session in order to enable each Work Package member’s transition in between WP’s channels thus providing information exchange and defining of future plans for joint/linked activities.

This event enabled all members to give their comments and suggestions on detailed plan for the implementation of the activities in the third project year, to update schedule for submission of project scientific publications, as well as other project outputs. All in all, the workshop was exceptionally fruitful, instructive and surprisingly smooth given the fact that it was performed online.
