GeoTwinn
1st GeoTwinn
‘Kick off’
Workshop
The 1st GeoTwinn (Strengthening research in the Croatian Geological Survey: Geoscience-Twinning to develop state-of-the-art subsurface modelling capability and scientific impact) Workshop was held 22nd-26th October 2018 in Croatian Geological Survey. The workshop was attended by work package leaders/coordinators and representatives of all beneficiary institutions which included Croatian Geological Survey (HGI-CGS), Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), British Geological Survey (BGS-UKRI) (Picture 1). The major objectives of the workshop were to build coordination structure and procedures, present institutional capabilities and available data, create detailed training and work plans, but also to start networking within and between institutions and work packages.
The Workshop started with Coordination board and Steering Committee meetings to discuss and introduce management plan.
On the second day of workshop a project Kick Off meeting, with 54 participants was held. During the lunch break, a poster session was organised which was very well accepted with respect to the good communication and development of the flow of thoughts.
On third, fourth and fifth day of the Workshop separate work package meetings and trainings were held. That enabled discussions and agreements on test areas, training tools/data/methods and Work package plans (Picture 2). One of the Work Packages already had field training as shown on Pictures 3 and 4.
The workshop was completed with final conclusions and presentations of agreed project plans.
It was very informative, constructive and successful meeting that, besides planned objectives also enabled good communication and interaction between participants.
